Jesus does not appear to come to destroy, but to fulfill. And this is exactly where the struggle of the human heart begins to be revealed: we often think salvation means the erasing of a burden, whereas Jesus says it is the perfection of the meaning of life itself.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets…” This is not a statement of strict legality, but of a love that goes deeper. Because true love does not destroy the law—it gives it a soul.
Jesus does not remove God's truth from us; He invites us to live it more deeply. Law without Christ becomes a burden. But Christ without law is not freedom—it is a loss of direction. That is why He says He came to fulfill—meaning, to fill it with life.
And perhaps our challenge is this: not to ask, "What should I do to succeed?" but rather, "How can I live out the fullness of what God intended?" Because every commandment of God is not a barrier to happiness, but a roadmap of love.
Jesus concludes with words that awaken us: even the smallest letter of the Word of God holds eternal weight. For in the eyes of God, no small thing lacks meaning—everything is a part of the fullness of His love.
